School has once again kicked back up and in the whirlwind of trying to juggle reading intensive courses I am also taking my first shot at trying to work while going to school. It’s great, though. I absolutely love my classes and I love working at a fabric store. However, the downside of being at a fabric store is that my paycheck is spent before I even receive it, considering I am always finding things I like. Speaking of fabric, bringing me to think of costumes, Halloween is drawing near. I am always incredibly excited about Halloween. Matter of fact, I already have several patterns I have picked up with which to choose a costume from. I need to get a head start on my homework and papers so I can feel a bit more at ease when this holiday nears. It’s unfortunate that Halloween is at such a difficult point in the semester…

But I cannot blame the origins of this holiday, as they are routed more in Celtic origin. What I can say though is that this semester I am taking a course in French– And now I can insult the French in their native tongue. It’s the most exciting thing.

French is a beautiful language I look forward to learning.

Les Français sont bête.

I digress in order to pose a question: What are the qualities of a well-developed blog and how do they relate to the qualities of a well-developed person?

As it may be clear, I have not blogged in over a month! An extraordinary feat, considering I have done so many things and yet had a supple amount of free time to blog about them. What have I done since I last blogged..? Well, I dressed up in (a half-arsed, pathetic) cosplay that I made myself, done plenty crafts– my doll still has no button eyes, I just have not quite made it to Florence to find any– and a lot of housework. To include the last bit or so, however, is different. The focus of my past week has been on getting things done, and for what? School and work.

I cannot explain how excited I am about going back to school. Never again will I lower myself to a brain-numbing three months without it. Never. Regardless of my job or schedule, I simply must keep educating my mind because I am worthless otherwise.

This past week I was trying to preorder my textbooks, and I don’t suppose I’ve announced this to my readers, but for some reason or another I am taking Introductory French. I am torn, reader, through my love of history and my loathing of the modern French people. Anyway, it was both comical and gruesome to find out that my French book is the most expensive, selling at about $220. Ridiculous, non?

I am hoping I can find some alternate, cheaper solution to this. Forget the French. I hate.

Continuing on this tangent, I saw Camelot the other evening at the local theatre. Although I am familiar with the plot of Camelot, it was not until seeing the production that I learned that Lancelot was French. The character was played (incredibly well) with an overenthusiastic French accent that provided a lot of comic relief before the storyline really got going. He is yet another example of the troubles the French bring with them, despite my affinity for his character.

I have done little other deep thinking that I would enjoy publicly blogging about as it is more than uncouth for me to single out my frustrations and unresolved anger towards one person and my captivation with another.

In other news, I start working tomorrow!

This weekend I am going to Persacon… and I’m just getting more and more excited about it. Looking up pictures of cosplayers from past years absolutely cracks me up and I really hope I’m able to open up and speak to people once I get there, instead of getting there and staying excited… but incredibly quiet and reserved. With enough coffee anything is possible…

I’ve been keeping up with the World Cup… it’s so exciting, oh my goodness. As I type this I’m watching the Chile v. Switzerland game. The most exciting game so far has, by far, been the USA v. England game. However, most of the games are wonderful and it is so exhilarating to watch and cheer for a nation. … Also being a Hetalia fan really makes this hilarious. But that’s not the reason why I find it so interesting, it only adds to it. Watching France lose… the French really have not showed much game at all, it’s marvelous.

… I won’t say anything about the England v. Algeria game though.

My hopes are high for Wednesday, where hopefully both England and USA will win their games and proceed to the next round… though, as long as one of them wins I will be content. I hold much contempt towards Slovenia at the moment for messing up the plans I had for both England and USA progressing.

One game I would enjoy viewing would be France v. England. I would eat it up, seriously. Maybe in another four years, though… It would be such a dream.

I’ve been going out a lot, trying to get together materials for cosplaying or working on the house or just crafty things in general. I’ve been sewing a good deal and I really do enjoy it. I would like to keep sewing and get better at it. Then, maybe, I can sew an entire cosplay outfit. And maybe more than one. So I don’t just have one cosplay for a three day convention. But… that costs money, I suppose, and I’d rather go see Toy Story 3 or something.. which is exactly what I’m doing today.

A few days ago I went to a wig shop called Crazy Carolyn’s. It was… the most annoying, frustrating, and utterly hilarious thing.

… When I looked up Crazy Carolyn’s to see if there was a logo or a picture of her on Google Images I found this on the first row of images. What the—… Anyway… My gosh…

Sorry if I scarred anyone, made anyone spit their drink onto their screen or choke on the snacks they should not have been eating while at a computer and, much less, reading my blog.

Crazy Carolyn’s is a small shop owned by, of course, Crazy Carolyn. If I ever believed that I knew someone who could ramble on and on… I was clearly naive to the truth. Even my friends who talk a lot (like LitaStarr, buhahaha) are mute in comparison to Crazy Carolyn, who will remind you every five minutes that she is Crazy Carolyn. I heard lots of excellent stories. Lots of excellent, long, useless stories that I don’t believe in the slightest. I tried on wigs… and the results of that are on my facebook.

Saturday I went to my friend’s birthday party. It was excellent; she’s an old woman now. She turned eighteen, and I find it so odd that most of my friends are… growing up. As I stood their awkwardly in that penguin-loving friend’s kitchen I realized that five of us were eighteen. When I thought of my college life during my first years of high school, never would I have expected to be where I am now… But I could not imagine being happier where I am right now.

Sewing, painting, cleaning, organizing, playing with tile grout, and still not doing enough. I need to go get fabric markers, white ribbon and velcro… after I finish watching the game.  For now… I clean.

Halftime.

The past few days I have done little more than take allergy medicine, wait for the medicine to kick in, swim if the weather permits and then work on the house for a while. It’s been nice, I suppose, but I feel like I am also neglecting people that I would enjoy being around. Maybe if I did not smell so bad I would enjoy going out after all the work is done… No less. Now it is storming. Readers, guess where else it is storming? France. THEY DID THIS. THEY KNEW I HAD THINGS TO DO. THEY KNEW WE ALL HAD THINGS TO DO.

So I’m looking forward to tuning in to the FIFA World Cup at the end of this week. Looking forward to the French getting schooled Thursday and tuning in to the England/America match ON SATURDAY AFTERNOON AT ONE-THIRTY ON ABC. TUNE IN. … Shameless plug in.

I am exhausted and determined to beat Final Fantasy XIII or something. I really want to, but the STORMS IN THE AIR AND THE STORMS IN MY SOOOUL ARE KEEPING ME FROM— … I can’t blog like that, too whiny.

How ridiculous.

During my time out today I saw some friends I hadn’t seen in a long time, and it was wonderful. I tried to get some shopping done that I would inevitably have to do, and succeeded. I feel very content after today, minus the fact that I am still lacking both fabric and a sewing machine. But that’s another day. Now that I’m feeling better, I am ready to get on board for some high speed working. Today I advertised starting a to-do list to someone I know, and I believe that taking my own advice would be a brilliant idea. My brother is shooting French people on his game.. and they are on his team. Brilliant.

For the past week I have not been thinking much, my head has been too congested to do so. … So much for not being redundant. It was a waste of a precious week of summer, but it is now the past. Now that I am finally able to think clearly without relying on too many medicines, I would like to get back to having a social life again. This past week I think I have touched on what solitary confinement must feel like, and it has driven me to the end of my sanity, or lack thereof.

Thursday I managed to leave the house, and though I did enjoy myself, I deem it a poor move on my behalf. I had taken entirely too much medicine and was really unable to be myself. The medicine did have some fun effects, however. I would go from being massively full of sporadic energy to having little to no energy at all within minutes, and this would continue on as long as the medicine did its work in my system. However, despite how amusing this was, it was not necessarily the best timing to be amused by such. I had not seen my friends all week, and even though I did get to see them, they were unable to see the real me.

And finally, Saturday. Today, yesterday, however it is considered. Though it might not have been too much plan-wise, as there literally was no planning, I had a wonderful time reuniting with my best friend in a trip to Walmart and some time staying at her house watching two Muppets movies. Though it had only been a week, a week without seeing a friend in the summer is like an entire lifetime rotting away. It was delightful. … Not the life rotting bit, the friend seeing bit.

However, I must say that watching these Muppets movies opened my eyes to a few things. No, not that the childish humor could be just as humorous to a child of all ages. But. In the Muppets is a shrimp or, beg pardon, a king prawn. This prawn is very French. Very, very French. As is the dubbing of the name Britain, Brittany, Bretagne, and other some such names.

Readers, the French are the reason as to why I fell ill this week. As a result the French, readers, are the reason I have been unable to blog for an entire week! Readers! Not only did the French attempt to keep me from getting a blog, now they will stop at nothing to keep me from blogging at all! This mayhem must be stopped! We must revolt!!

Börk, börk, börk!

Yesterday also marked a pivotal event where I made up with a friend I thought I was losing. I feel like a weight has been lifted off my chest, knowing that I am no longer feeling as though I am keeping secrets from her. Though we might have our differences, to squall over something that involves hurting someone who should not be involved… is something my conscience is unable to handle. I am missing a few wires to know how to appropriately handle situations like this when I am involved.

My birthday was splendid, and I would not have had it any other way unless, perhaps, if the sun would have been shining, I suppose. My friends and I knocked holes into the wall and it was a blast. I also learned it is very obvious I haven’t played Guitar Hero or Rock Band in a very, very long time.

Frog, you’re being too loud. Go to the neighbor’s house.

One of my friends will hopefully bring her inflatable penguin to put into the pool. It’s the most exciting thing ever, I can’t even explain.

No less, I am exhausted and want tomorrow to come faster. Goodnight.

No less, I find it interesting that when I was an underclassman I always looked at the graduates in awe and thought that they all looked so mature and grown up… Now I look at the graduates like the children I knew them as, it’s a very strange feeling.

I have family over for the weekend, my cousin brought over the cutest little puppy ever that I simply must go play with.

The lightning outside is pretty.

Today was another day spent working on different parts of the house. My eyes burn a bit from the Clorox, I need a shower, but it’s been a pretty good day. I can’t wait for the weekend. My birthday is this Sunday.

The frogs outside are too loud. I blame the French.
